The Engineering Overhaul

When we set out to build the second generation of the Chrono Diver, we didn't look at industry trends—we looked at our inbox. We built the Gen 2 by carefully listening to owner and enthusiast feedback from our original run. We didn't want to change the nostalgic look or tool-watch capability that made the Series 1 a favorite; we wanted to refine how it lived on your wrist every day. Every change below is a direct response to the real-world miles our community put on the original.

Revised Case Profile

We designed the Chrono Diver to sit comfortably on the wrist without sacrificing the vintage profile. The steel mid-case measures a slim 11.5mm to the top of the bezel, topped by a 2mm double-domed sapphire crystal for a total height of 13.5mm. By curving the lugs down slightly, the case naturally contours around your wrist.

Recessed Pushers

Streamlined & Snag-Free. We machined recessed cutouts for the chronograph pushers, tucking them closer to the case. This reduces visual bulk and prevents them from digging into your wrist, all while keeping that retro "pump pusher" look.

The 5-link Bracelet

Style meets comfort. Our new fully articulating 5-link bracelet is designed specifically to follow the contour of your wrist. It features a dramatic, premium taper from 22mm down to 18mm, reducing visual and physical bulk at the underside of your arm.

On-The-Fly Micro-Adjustment

No tools required. Our re-engineered clasp allows for instant, micro-sizing changes throughout the day. Whether your wrist is swelling on a hot summer afternoon or tightening up in the cold, you can find the perfect fit in seconds without ever needing a spring bar tool.

I’ve always been drawn to the "purposeful clutter" of 1970s skin divers—the high-contrast subdials, the pump pushers, and that unmistakable instrument feel. I created the Chrono Diver to bring that specific vintage aesthetic into a modern, reliable package.

With the Gen 2, the goal was to sharpen the execution. We redesigned the entire case architecture to allow for a seamless 5-link metal bracelet while maintaining the slim, wearable geometry of the original. It’s a modern-sized take on a vintage icon—built to be worn, not just collected.

For this second batch, we wanted to explore how color and light change the character of the watch. The Panda Orange is an energetic take on a classic layout, adding vibrant orange accents for a high-visibility, sporty feel. On the other hand, the Steel Blue is a study in subtlety—a desaturated, slate-like blue designed to be a versatile, everyday neutral that shifts beautifully depending on the light.

"I was looking at a flyer for a local watch show and came across the Dryden Watches. I had never heard of them but realized they are local to me in KC. I found their Chrono Diver with Kansas City on the dial. I thought it would be cool to have a watch from a local Co with KC on the dial. I bought the last one of Vintage Style. Hawaii or Bust!

"A month ago, I purchased for myself the Dryden 2d gen. diver watch after reading a glowing review and checking out their website. Then I was very impressed by the owner, Jerry’s, catching my error in selecting a synthetic band for the watch (I had selected the wrong size). He reached out to me to me, and then not only sent me the correct sized band in orange but included, gratis!, the right sized band in black! Nice!! I felt so good about that interaction (and Jerry’s personal note) that I used the tempting 10 percent discount welcoming me back to also buy for a friend this new (very reasonably priced) dive watch. My friend is not used to such nice things. He is a very (VERY) hard working mechanic who is doing his best to build his new business. I got him the watch (in his colors) so that he would be reminded that now that a year has past in his building his new business, he only has 4 more years until we, hopefully, make it to Hawaii with family and friends and go snorkeling. So a forward looking gift of beauty based upon hope :)"

An Amazing Time Piece

"I am so fortunate to have stumbled upon Dryden Watch on social media. When I saw the new Gen 2 Chrono Diver in Vinatage Black was going to be open for pre-order I jumped at the chance to purchase one. This watch is solid, well-crafted, and beautiful to look at. The 5 link bracelet is so comfortable and the micro adjust means it stays comfortable even on really warm days when my wrist expands. And the lume? Stunning. This watch is my new daily driver. At the risk of the price going up I have to say I am amazed you can purchase this type of quality for this price. Scott was very responsive to my emails too even though I was bugging him about the preorder link. A great watch, great service, and a great company as well. I am sure this will not be my only Dryden Watch."

Impressive quality and value

"This watch punches well above it's weight and is an excellent value. I own around 50 watches of all kinds including Omega, Breitling, Sinn, Grand Seiko, etc. and this watch is a welcome addition to my collection. It looks and feels great on your wrist with the bracelet draping nicely over your arm. It is comfortable with a nice weight but not clunky. The chronograph movement works well and does sort of feel like a mechanical watch. I know the movement is inexpensive but it keeps time much better than it's specification. I've been wearing the watch for 8 days and checking it with the Atomic Clock app and it is averaging -. 15 seconds a day. I'm happy with that. The bezel is perfectly aligned at the 12 o'clock position as is the chronograph second hand. The lumen is excellent! The internal micro adjustment works well. Overall the design and construction are very good, especially at this price range. It's at least as good or better as some of my more expensive watches. Also the company has been very responsive and I recommend the watch and company completely. I will not hesitate to buy more watches from them."
